Blerim Skoro, a 55-year-old Kosovo-born resident of the United States, has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New Jersey. Skoro, a father of three and a taxi driver in Staten Island, claims to have served as a secret agent for U.S. intelligence services.

According to FBI documents, Skoro's cooperation with authorities began in 2000 while he was incarcerated for drug trafficking. Between 2002 and 2006, he provided intelligence to the FBI regarding various terrorist threats. His information was reportedly used in investigations involving Osama bin Laden and has been described in documents as “operationally useful” and “reliable.”

Skoro asserts that he was directed by the CIA to infiltrate Al Qaeda between 2007 and 2009. His legal team has filed a motion in federal court to halt his deportation, arguing that he was promised residency in exchange for his years of service. In 2022, a federal judge had previously stayed his deportation to Kosovo due to the high risk of torture or death.
