Blessing CEO trial continues over N69.15m property fraud allegations
The trial of social media influencer Blessing Nkiruka, known as Blessing CEO, continued in a Lagos court on Monday, October 12, 2026. A prosecution witness, Dr. Onuoha Okeigwe, testified that he paid N69,150,000 to lease a property in Lekki, Lagos, which was allegedly represented to him as belonging to the defendant.
Dr. Okeigwe informed Justice R. A. Oshodi that the payment included lease costs as well as agency, legal, and caution fees. The witness testified that the situation escalated when an individual named Mr. Tom arrived at the property with police officers and arrested several workers. According to the testimony, the defendant claimed she did not know Mr. Tom and maintained she was the owner of the building, despite the dispute.
As evidence, the witness identified WhatsApp messages in which the defendant allegedly sent photographs of the property to support her claim of ownership. The defendant, who was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in June 2026, has pleaded not guilty to charges of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing. The case has been adjourned until October 26, 2026.
