Emergency services respond to multiple incidents in Romania and Moldova
Various emergency incidents have been reported across Romania and Moldova. In the Făgăraș Mountains, mountain rescue teams (Salvamont) conducted several high-stakes operations. These included a five-hour nighttime rescue of two exhausted hikers, one suffering a leg dislocation, and a fatal accident where a 53-year-old Polish tourist fell approximately 160 meters into a ravine near Vârful Mircii.
In Moldova, a significant apartment fire in Bălți on Strata 19 led to the evacuation of residents and the rescue of three people, including a minor, via fire department ladders. One resident sustained burns. Additionally, a serious car accident near Făgureni left a six-year-old child in critical condition after a vehicle veered into a drainage canal; the driver was reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
In Romania, police and emergency services responded to multiple domestic and public safety calls. This included a woman rescued from the Dâmbovița River in Bucharest by police officers, a woman rescued from a 10-meter deep well in Zvoriștea, and several arrests related to domestic violence and assault in regions such as Vaslui, Brașov, and Timișoara. In Vâlcea, a police officer intervened during his off-duty hours to de-escalate a conflict, while a search dog named Luna successfully located two missing 13-year-olds.
