Bălți Clinical Hospital to receive Japanese grant for ultrasound equipment

The Bălți Clinical Hospital in Moldova will acquire a new, high-performance ultrasound machine through a grant provided by the Government of Japan. The funding, totaling approximately $95,673, is part of the ‘Kusanone’ grant program.

Japanese Ambassador to Moldova, Kazuyuki Takeuchi, and the interim director of the hospital, Ludmila Capcelea, signed the financing contract on September 25. Ambassador Takeuchi emphasized that the hospital is a central provider of medical assistance for northern Moldova, noting that improved cardiovascular services will prevent patients from having to travel to Chișinău for examinations.

Ludmila Capcelea stated that the new equipment will allow medical professionals to establish diagnoses more rapidly and accurately. Since its launch in Moldova in 2008, the Kusanone program has funded 98 development projects in health, education, and public utilities, totaling $8 million.
