Blik attains systemic importance in Poland as Euronet lowers withdrawal limits

The Blik payment system has been reclassified by the National Bank of Poland (NBP) as a systemically important retail payment system. This decision follows data showing that Blik processed the highest number of payment orders among all retail payment systems in Poland over the last four reporting quarters.

Separately, Euronet Polska has implemented a significant change to its withdrawal limits. As of February 19, 2026, the maximum amount for a single cash withdrawal using a Blik code at Euronet ATMs and recyclers has been reduced from 800 PLN to 200 PLN. This restriction applies to all Euronet-owned devices and remains in effect until further notice. The limit does not affect the total amount a user can withdraw from their account, but it does require multiple transactions to withdraw larger sums of cash.
