Bálint Ruff vows no compromises in Hungarian regime change
Bálint Ruff, the Minister leading the Prime Minister’s Office, has stated that the current government is focused on a genuine regime change to address the damage left by the previous administration. Speaking to Kontroll, Ruff argued that the primary goal of the National System of Cooperation (NER) over the past 16 years was the looting of the state rather than national prosperity.
Ruff criticized the Fidesz era for fostering a culture of lawlessness, where certain individuals acted as if they were above the law. He noted that there is a significant public demand for accountability and reparations regarding the actions taken by the previous system. He emphasized that the current administration is engaged in a process of cleaning up the remnants of the old system and rebuilding.
According to Ruff, the new constitution adopted on April 12 serves to fulfill the transition of power. He described himself as a radical politician in the sense that he intends to fully implement the mandate given to the Tisza Party by the voters. He also remarked that without the Tisza Party's two-thirds majority, the previous system might have simply continued under a different prime minister.
