Blitar communities provide food aid for NTT earthquake victims

Communities and cooperatives in Blitar, East Java, are providing humanitarian aid to earthquake victims in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT).

The Blitar Social Services Agency produced 200 kilograms of 'sambal pecel', a local specialty, through a collaborative effort involving various groups including TAGANA, Baznas Blitar, and the PKH program. The production took place over two days and the finished goods were sent to the Blitar Regency Government's aid reception post.

Additionally, 14 poultry farming cooperatives in the Blitar Raya region have donated cash and fresh eggs to support disaster recovery. The egg donation is equivalent to approximately 8.8 tons of eggs. Eti Marlina, coordinator of the BKT NT Independent Layer Farmer Solidarity House, noted that despite current market pressures facing the poultry industry, the cooperatives felt a social responsibility to assist those in need, particularly to help provide nutrition for children during the recovery period.
