Blitar Police investigate fuel shortages and distribution irregularities

The Blitar City Police (Polres Blitar Kota) have reported that fuel stocks at gas stations across Blitar City and Regency are generally sufficient, despite reports of long queues at several locations. Police Chief AKBP Kalfaris Triwijaya Lalo stated that authorities are monitoring distribution to prevent hoarding and the misuse of subsidized fuel.

During a recent inspection, authorities discovered that a gas station near Kebon Rojo was holding Pertalite stock but refusing to sell it to customers. Management claimed the fuel was being held for a subsequent sales shift to prevent long queues, a practice that has drawn scrutiny from both the police and the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag). Investigators are currently looking into whether this practice constitutes a violation of standard operating procedures or illegal fuel diversion.
