Blitz Hire secures BGF investment to expand film and TV services

Blitz Hire, a leading UK provider of specialist rigging and structural equipment for the film, television, and live event industries, has secured investment from growth capital firm BGF.

Founded in 2001 and currently led by CEO Sam Skipper, the company provides rigging, lifting, and drapery services from a 90,000 sq ft facility in North London. Blitz Hire has supported major productions including ‘Barbie’, ‘Bridgerton’, and ‘Slow Horses’. The company has more than doubled in size since partnering with West Yorkshire-based Production Park in 2022 through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

The new investment from BGF is intended to accelerate Blitz Hire’s growth trajectory. The funds will be used to maintain its leadership in the rigging market, expand into adjacent markets, and pursue further strategic mergers and acquisitions to broaden its service offerings.
