Blizzard and CD Projekt Red discuss Witcher 3 expansions

Blizzard Entertainment is expanding the content on its Battle.net platform, including the upcoming release of a The Witcher 3 remaster and Cyberpunk 2077. Andrew Guerrero, Blizzard’s VP of Product Management and Global Analytics, stated that the company is not attempting to replicate Steam or the Epic Games Store. Instead, Blizzard intends to remain selective, offering high-quality titles that specifically appeal to its existing, engaged community.

Separately, CD Projekt Red’s narrative director for The Witcher 3, Marcin Blacha, discussed the design philosophy behind the game’s quest system. Blacha emphasized that meaningful player choices must carry weight and force players to reflect on human nature and difficult dilemmas. He noted that the upcoming DLC, Songs of the Past, will continue this approach by presenting complex moral decisions that may cause player discomfort or regret.
