Blizzard increases player limits for World of Warcraft: Forever beta

Blizzard Entertainment is experiencing unprecedented demand for the World of Warcraft: Forever beta. Due to exceptionally high player numbers that have strained server capacity, Executive Producer Holly Longdale confirmed that the company has had to increase the population cap once again.

Senior Game Designer Josh Greenfield described the current engagement levels as some of the most extreme he has witnessed in his 17-year career at Blizzard. The project aims to cater to former Classic players while attracting new audiences.

In a notable content decision, developers announced that the game will include the ‘Kyle’s gone missing!’ quest from The Burning Crusade expansion. Although the project is designed to remain based on the Classic version of the game, developers are making an exception for this specific mission due to its emotional significance to the community. The quest, located in Mulgore, was originally created through the Make-a-Wish program for Ezra Chatterton, a young boy with a terminal illness, in 2007.
