Blizzard nerfs World of Warcraft: Midnight dungeons ahead of Season 2

Blizzard Entertainment is preparing Patch 12.1 on the public test realm (PTR) to make the dungeons of World of Warcraft: Midnight easier ahead of the upcoming Season 2. The new season, expected around August 2026, will feature four familiar Midnight dungeons, one brand‑new dungeon and three older dungeons that have been modernised.

Recent changes focus on the Murder Alley, Nalorak's Lair and the Empty Rift arena. Numerous mobs and bosses have received reductions in damage and ability frequency – for example, the boss Taz'Rah now uses its powers less often, and the right‑hand side of the arena is now clearer for players. A visual radius indicator for Zul'Jarra’s Defensive Stance in Nalorak's Lair has also been added to help players avoid the ability. In addition, Blizzard will introduce new addon restrictions to prevent third‑party tools from overly assisting players in these dungeons.
