Blizzard opens name reservations for WoW Forever amid technical issues
Blizzard has opened name reservation windows for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Forever release. The reservation process, which allows players to secure up to three character names, began on October 27 for Europe and North America, followed by Korea and Taiwan on October 28.
During the initial rollout, players encountered technical difficulties and a bug in the name-checking system. Blizzard confirmed that the system was applying overly strict restrictions, erroneously blocking certain character combinations, such as those containing the letters ‘c-o-n’. A fix for this bug was scheduled to be implemented during regional realm resets.
Name reservations are currently available to players who pre-purchased specific editions, including the Skyborne Heroic Pack, the Skyborne Epic Pack, or the limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection. The reservation window remains open until November 3, ahead of the game’s launch on November 4.
