Blizzard adds Rebirth feature to Diablo 4 Season 15

Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that Diablo 4 Season 15 will include the long‑requested Rebirth feature. The system lets players convert an Eternal‑realm character into a seasonal character, resetting the hero to level 1 and clearing all equipped items while preserving the character’s name, class, appearance, accumulated playtime and all cosmetic items such as pets, mounts and transmogrifications.

The Rebirth mechanic will be tested on a Public Test Realm (PTR) from 4 August to 11 August 2026, after which the full Season 15 launch is slated for mid‑September 2026, following BlizzCon. In addition to Rebirth, the PTR introduces new content: socketable “Soul Splinters” items that grant elemental or physical resistances, Challenge Dungeons that appear as temporary portals with adjustable difficulty, Overland Ambushes that force players to flee or fight, and a set of legacy uniques drawn from Diablo I‑III. Blizzard also announced simplifications to the Mythic system, including unique versions of iconic mythics that are easier to obtain.

These changes aim to reduce the need for players to create fresh characters each season while expanding loot variety and gameplay depth for the upcoming season.
