Blizzard rolls out new troll raid and Season of Death Awakening for World of Warcraft

Blizzard Entertainment announced that the upcoming Patch 12.1 will introduce a brand‑new troll‑themed raid, the first of its kind since the 2019 Battle of Dazar’alor. The raid is linked to the Amani leader Zul’jan and ties into the Midnight expansion storyline, and it will be available across all difficulty levels from LFR to Mythic.

The same update also launches the 14th season of Diablo IV, titled “Season of Death Awakening,” on 30 June. Highlights include a redesign of Mythic Uniques 3.0, new “Pandemonium Ruptures” portals, the Risen monster family, a Solo Self‑Found mode, and an increased gold cap of 999 999 999 999 coins. Players can test a free Warlock class trial from 30 June to 7 July, and a crossover with Overwatch adds exclusive “Eye of the Overwatch” currency for themed cosmetics.

Both announcements aim to refresh long‑time player engagement while attracting newer audiences with updated content and collaborative features.
