Blizzard bans GDKP raiding and targets gold buyers in WoW Forever

Blizzard Entertainment has announced significant economic policy changes for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Forever. During a recent developer stream, Senior Game Designer Josh Greenfield and Community Manager Randy ‘Kaivax’ Jordan confirmed that GDKP (Gold Dragon Kill Points) raiding will be prohibited in the new title. This loot system, where raid drops are auctioned to the highest bidder, is being banned to protect traditional guild structures and prevent it from becoming a barrier to entry for newer players.

In addition to the GDKP ban, Blizzard is implementing an aggressive crackdown on real-money gold trading. Players caught purchasing in-game currency through external vendors face severe penalties, including the potential for permanent loss of their accounts. Developers noted that previous enforcement in other versions of the game had been too lenient, but they intend to use active monitoring tools to protect the Forever economy.

Other updates for the title include the introduction of the Skyborne race, a winged humanoid playable by both Alliance and Horde factions, and official controller support. The game's beta has seen unprecedented interest, though players have reported technical issues such as connection interruptions and lag during high-traffic periods.
