Blizzard VP suggests spell combination mechanics for World of Warcraft
Blizzard Entertainment Vice President Holly Longdale has expressed interest in introducing spell combination mechanics to World of Warcraft. Speaking at PAX Australia, Longdale suggested that the game could benefit from synergies where players' spells build upon or reinforce one another, similar to mechanics found in titles like Guild Wars or Baldur’s Gate 3.
Examples of such a system include a mage’s fire wall being used by a hunter to create fire arrows, or specific combinations that deal increased damage when two players coordinate their attacks. The proposal aligns with Blizzard’s stated goal of increasing social interaction and group play within the franchise.
