Block launches major Bitcoin consumer advertising campaign
Block, the fintech company led by Jack Dorsey, has launched ‘Bitcoin Does’, its first large-scale consumer advertising campaign. The initiative aims to reach approximately 60 million ‘Bitcoin-curious’ Americans who have heard of the cryptocurrency but have not yet integrated it into their daily lives.
The campaign seeks to reposition Bitcoin from a speculative investment to a practical tool for everyday transactions, such as paying for meals or shopping at local businesses. To support this transition, Block is promoting an integrated ecosystem consisting of Cash App for purchasing, Bitkey for self-custody, and Square for merchant payments.
Advertising is being deployed across major platforms including YouTube, X, Meta, Instagram, and FOX Sports, with additional placements planned for major film screenings through late 2026. The campaign highlights Bitcoin’s utility as a response to economic uncertainties and traditional financial frustrations. Block noted that while Bitcoin awareness is high in the US, widespread daily usage remains limited.
