Blockchain technology enables real estate tokenization in Argentina
Blockchain technology is introducing a new investment alternative in the Argentine real estate market through tokenization. This process involves digitally representing specific rights to an asset via blockchain, allowing individuals to participate in real estate operations without needing the total value of a property.
During a discussion hosted by the Colegio de Escribanos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, experts Rolo Vigliano, CEO of Pala Blockchain, and Miguel Guinle explained that real estate tokens differ from cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. While cryptocurrencies represent monetary value, real estate tokens can contain documentation such as contracts, trusts, or floor plans that back the acquired right.
Experts noted a critical distinction in current projects: rather than tokenizing the direct ownership of the physical property, many systems tokenize personal rights related to the real estate business, such as participation in a trust or a purchase agreement.
