Blockchain.com joins Nigerian SEC regulatory incubation programme

Blockchain.com has been admitted to the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Accelerated Regulatory Incubation Programme (ARIP). This admission follows the company satisfying the SEC’s initial requirements for participation.

Through the ARIP, Blockchain.com is authorized to operate within a defined sandbox scope, subject to ongoing compliance obligations, testing parameters, and regulatory conditions. The company will work directly with the SEC as the Commission evaluates digital asset business models, tests safeguards, and develops a long-term regulatory framework for the Nigerian market.

Owen Odia, General Manager for Africa at Blockchain.com, noted that Nigeria is a critical digital asset market in Africa. He stated that the programme allows the company to work in a controlled environment to support a framework that protects consumers while enabling innovation.
