Blockchain.com Secures Cayman Islands VASP Custody Licence
Blockchain.com has obtained a definitive Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) custody services licence from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) through its Cayman Islands subsidiary. The approval follows the company's recent regulatory milestones, including a MiCA licence in Europe and FCA registration in the United Kingdom.
In June, Blockchain.com partnered with TechCayman to integrate into the island’s technology ecosystem and plans to hire its first on‑island employee to support local operations. The licence enables the firm to offer institutional custody, institutional staking and retail staking services under a regulated framework. Since its founding in 2011, Blockchain.com has processed more than $1.1 trillion in transactions and serves over 43 million verified users.
