Blondie announces new album ‘High Noon’ featuring final recordings from Clem Burke

New wave band Blondie has announced their twelfth studio album, ‘High Noon’, scheduled for release on February 26, 2027, via BMG. This marks the group’s first studio album of new material in approximately nine years, following 2017’s ‘Pollinator’.

The album holds significant emotional weight as it features the final recordings of co-founding drummer Clem Burke, who passed away from cancer in April 2025 at the age of 70. Sessions for the project began in New York City in 2022 under the production of John Congleton, with additional production and mixing provided by David Wrench.

The lead single, ‘Spectral Eyes’, has already been released. The track was written by and features guitar work from former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. Other notable collaborators on the 13-track album include Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols, Zach Condon of Beirut, and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius.

Singer Debbie Harry described the work as “classic Blondie,” noting it is an amalgamation of the band’s various influences and eras. Guitarist Chris Stein expressed gratitude for the band’s continued journey and the support of their fans.
