Blood and Bone Marrow Donation Campaigns Mobilize Iberian Region

Over 25,000 people have donated blood in the Iberian region this year as part of a campaign that runs until 19 June under the slogan “Una gota de humanidad”. The drive, timed with World Blood Donor Day, aims to keep blood banks stocked for surgeries, oncology treatments, trauma care and other medical emergencies.

In Extremadura, Spain, the Association for Bone Marrow Donation (ADMO) is running a week‑long “Latidos contra la Leucemia” programme from 15‑21 June. Activities include hospital visits, informational stands, a sports relay and a dance event, all intended to raise awareness of leukemia and encourage people aged 18‑40 to register as bone‑marrow donors.
