Blood Cancer United teens raise millions for research
High school students participating in the Blood Cancer United ‘Student Visionaries of the Year’ campaign are utilizing philanthropic leadership to fund cancer research and support education initiatives. The program engages thousands of volunteers nationwide to advocate for patients and survivors.
Orion Greene, 16, is continuing the legacy of his father, John Greene, who raised $8 million for the cause before passing away from acute myeloid leukemia. Greene’s fundraising efforts, organized through ‘Team Greene Goblins,’ utilized social media, events, and direct outreach to raise over $1.2 million. This total includes a $1 million donation from Salesforce, following a direct request made to CEO Marc Benioff.
