Blood donation campaigns active in Sofia and Varna

Blood donation efforts continue across Bulgaria, with military personnel and citizens supporting medical facilities. In Sofia, personnel from the 3rd Brigade Command participated in the Military Medical Academy’s (VMA) ‘Be One of Us: Donate Blood – Save a Life!’ campaign to meet the academy's daily requirements for emergency surgeries, transplants, and trauma care.

In Varna, the Regional Center for Transfusion Hematology reported that 240 people donated blood between August 29 and September 4, providing 332 blood product units for 247 patients. Despite this activity, medical officials in Varna have issued an urgent call for donors with O-negative and AB-negative blood types to assist the center.
