Blood donation drives launched in Paraguay and Spain by Mapfre and local authorities

Mapfre Paraguay held a voluntary blood‑donation campaign on 17 June at its Casa Central on Avenida Mariscal López in Asunción. The event ran from 08:00 to 13:00 in partnership with the National Blood Service (CENSSA). HR director Lourdes Caballero emphasized the aim of strengthening the country’s blood reserves for emergencies and medical treatments. Eligible donors were 18‑65 years old, weighed more than 50 kg, and presented an identity document, with additional health criteria.

In Casarrubuelos, Spain, a new blood‑donation session was scheduled for 16 July. A mobile unit, organized by the Red Cross and the Community of Madrid Blood Transfusion Centre and supported by the town hall, was placed on Calle Ciudad Real beside the local health centre from 17:15 to 20:30. The campaign highlighted Madrid’s need for about 900 donations daily to maintain adequate hospital supplies. Participants were asked to bring their DNI and have eaten beforehand.
