Blood donation drives organized in Garwolin and Busko-Zdrój

Local blood donation initiatives are taking place across Poland to support medical needs and specific patients. In Garwolin, the Polish Red Cross has organized a donation event scheduled for September 17, 2026. The campaign is specifically designed for fire service units participating in the ‘Ognisty Ratownik – Gorąca Krew’ competition, though residents of the Garwolin district are also encouraged to participate. The event will be held at the new regional blood donation headquarters on Lubelska Street.

In Busko-Zdrój, a recent blood drive held on September 13, 2026, successfully collected 18 liters of blood. Organized by the ‘Straż Życia’ Honorary Blood Donor Club associated with the Mikułowice Volunteer Fire Department, the drive was dedicated to supporting a young patient named Mireczka fighting acute myeloid leukemia. Out of 51 people who registered, 40 donors were medically qualified to donate, contributing to the total volume collected for both the specific patient and general medical use.
