Blood donation initiatives active in Wrocław and Jelenia Góra
Blood donation initiatives are being highlighted across different regions in Poland. In Wrocław, the Regional Center for Blood Donation and Hematology (RCKiK) provides regular donation services at its main facility on Czerwonego Krzyża Street, as well as through mobile blood collection actions throughout the city and region.
To qualify as a donor, individuals must generally be between 18 and 65 years old, weigh at least 50 kg, and meet specific health requirements determined by medical personnel. Preparation for donation includes staying hydrated and eating a light meal.
In Jelenia Góra, a collaborative blood drive was held at the Municipal Police Headquarters. The event involved police officers, municipal guards, and members of the public, utilizing a mobile blood collection bus to support blood banks and assist those in need of medical emergencies.
