Rebel Wolves’ ‘The Blood of Dawnwalker’ previewed as new vampire RPG
Rebel Wolves, the studio formed by former CD Projekt Red veterans including co‑director of The Witcher 3 Konrad Tomaszkiewicz and narrative director Jakub Szamałek, is set to release its first title, *The Blood of Dawnwalker*, in September 2026. The action‑RPG is a dark‑fantasy open world set in a 14th‑century Eastern‑European‑inspired region ruled by a vampire cabal that extracts a monthly blood tribute. Players control Coen, a family man who becomes a half‑vampire and must decide whether to retain his humanity or embrace his new powers while racing against a 30‑day clock to rescue his family. Time advances only when quests or story moments are completed, creating a resource‑management layer that forces players to prioritize activities.
The game builds on Witcher‑style combat, dialogue depth and lore‑driven storytelling, but adds its own mechanics such as directional attacks, a “focus” mode for investigations, and branching outcomes that can affect future instalments in the planned saga. Development was completed in about four years with a staff of roughly 160, a timeline praised by the team for its efficiency. The title is being positioned as a flagship RPG for the European market, with Bandai Namco handling publishing.
