Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement delayed to 2027

The release of Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, the upcoming metroidvania title from developer ArtPlay and publisher 505 Games, has been delayed. While initial reports suggested a 2026 launch, series creator Koji Igarashi officially announced on X that the game is now scheduled for release in 2027.

Set in 16th-century England, the 2.5D action-platformer features a dynamic time system spanning dawn, day, dusk, and night, which affects gameplay and world interaction. The story follows two heroes, Leonard Brandon and Alexander Kyteler, as they confront the Demon Lord Elias and a mysterious floating castle. The title is expected to feature the largest game map in the series' history and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
