Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement gameplay revealed for 2027 release

ArtPlay and 505 Games have released a new gameplay trailer for Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement during the Xbox TGS Showcase. The game, supervised by creator Koji Igarashi, is a prequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Set in 16th-century England, the title features a gothic atmosphere where players control two new protagonists, Leonard and Alex. The story follows their attempt to combat a floating castle controlled by a mysterious figure named Elias. The gameplay emphasizes Metroidvania elements, including skill-based exploration, material collection, crafting systems, and tactical combat against demonic bosses.

Following a previous delay, the game is now scheduled for release in 2027. It will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
