Bloom Energy CEO addresses Oracle force majeure concerns

Bloom Energy CEO KR Sridhar has dismissed investor concerns regarding Oracle’s invocation of a force majeure clause related to Project Jupiter, a $165 billion AI data center campus in New Mexico. Oracle recently issued the notice to protect itself from costs and payments should the facility miss its scheduled 2028 start date.

Sridhar argued that the company’s technology offers unique flexibility compared to traditional power infrastructure. He described Bloom’s units as “fungible,” noting that they can be redirected to different locations even after being shipped. This mobility, he stated, allows the company to mitigate risks associated with individual project delays.

Project Jupiter is expected to utilize up to 2.45 gigawatts of Bloom Energy capacity. Sridhar emphasized that Bloom manages a broad portfolio of simultaneous construction projects, which serves as a buffer against delays. He reaffirmed the company’s financial guidance and expressed intentions to scale manufacturing to meet rising demand from AI data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing sectors.
