Bloom Energy expands fuel‑cell microgrid partnership with MiTAC in California

Bloom Energy announced an expanded partnership with MiTAC Computing Technology Corp to install a fuel‑cell microgrid at MiTAC’s AI server manufacturing campus in Fremont, California. The project builds on an existing microgrid at MiTAC’s San Jose facility and will provide independent onsite power, allowing production to continue even when the public grid is constrained and offering flexibility for future capacity growth.

Bloom says the deployment reflects rising electricity demand across the AI ecosystem, from data centers to advanced manufacturers. The company now serves nearly two dozen AI infrastructure customers with about 250 MW of contracted capacity, up from virtually none two years ago. "As the buildout of AI infrastructure accelerates, demand for power is growing at every layer of the ecosystem," said Aman Joshi, Chief Commercial Officer of Bloom Energy.

The collaboration highlights the growing role of onsite power solutions in supporting the rapid expansion of AI hardware production.
