Bloom Energy faces valuation scrutiny ahead of Q3 earnings
Bloom Energy is approaching its third-quarter 2026 financial results, with analysts anticipating significant growth. Third-quarter revenue is expected to rise approximately 104% to $1.06 billion, compared to $519.05 million in the previous year, while adjusted earnings per share are projected to increase to $0.70 from $0.15.
The company has raised its full-year revenue guidance to a range of $3.9 billion to $4.2 billion. Financial indicators show Bloom Energy has maintained strong health by generating $175 million in free cash flow for Q2 2026, a distinction among hydrogen-focused companies that often rely on capital raises.
However, investor concerns have emerged regarding the company’s valuation. Bloom Energy’s forward price-to-earnings ratio of 63.5x and its trailing 12-month P/E multiple of 255x are significantly higher than industry peers such as Cummins Inc. and GE Vernova. Consequently, retail sentiment has recently shifted from ‘bullish’ to ‘neutral’ as investors await the upcoming earnings report.
