Bloomfield Halloween display faces noise complaints and vandalism
A long-running Halloween attraction in Bloomfield, New Jersey, is facing local opposition despite its popularity. Created by James Joanow, the elaborate haunted display on Lakeside Avenue has drawn thousands of visitors for over 20 years.
Joanow reported that the attraction has become the target of anonymous noise complaints, leading to police visits. He noted that the display operates between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. in accordance with local ordinances. Additionally, Joanow alleged an act of vandalism in which someone placed nails in his driveway, resulting in a flat tire for his vehicle.
