Blossoms release sixth studio album ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’

The British band Blossoms has released their sixth studio album, titled ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’. The album title is a tribute to their hometown of Stockport, referencing the nickname of the local town hall. Produced by Shawn Lee and recorded entirely on tape, the record explores a broad stylistic range beyond their traditional indie sound, incorporating elements of funk and disco.

Key tracks include the opening song ‘Joke About Divorce’, which features a guest appearance by Rick Astley, and ‘Husband’, a track that reflects on lead singer Tom Ogden’s personal experiences. Other notable songs include ‘The Kardashians’, which utilizes unconventional percussion, and ‘Additional Driver’, a story-driven track featuring indie singer-songwriter Declan McKenna. The album also includes ‘Meet Me In Love’ and continues the band's tradition of referencing musical influences, such as The Cure.
