Bluay viral moment involves supermarket Pingo Doce
A viral moment involving Portuguese artist Bluay has captured social media attention following an unexpected interruption during a performance at Lisbon's Cais do Sodré station. During the RFM ‘Sem Olhar a Quem’ initiative, which focuses on accessibility and inclusion, an unidentified woman approached the stage, took the microphone from Bluay, and improvised lyrics about the supermarket chain Pingo Doce.
The interruption caused the performance to halt, and production staff and authorities intervened to remove the individual. In response to the trending clip, the supermarket chain Pingo Doce engaged with the phenomenon on social media. The company posted an AI-generated video featuring its mascot on Instagram, which was later removed, and issued a playful request on TikTok asking users to help identify the author of the ‘banger’ while joking that ‘hunger was speaking louder’ to the artist.
Bluay, born José Carlos Coelho Almeida Tavares in 1999, is a rising figure in the Portuguese music scene. Known for his heterochromia—which inspired his stage name from the English ‘blue eye’—he has achieved success with hits like ‘Louco’ and participated in the 2025 Festival da Canção.
