Blue Dragon receiving native PC port via community project

The JRPG Blue Dragon, originally released by Mistwalker for the Xbox 360, is receiving a native PC port through a community-led project. Developed by a programmer known as Tom and a group of enthusiasts, the project uses a tool called ReXGlue to perform a static recompilation. This process translates the original Xbox 360 code into portable C++ to allow it to run natively on modern hardware, rather than relying on traditional emulation.

The port includes several technical enhancements, such as support for resolutions up to 4K, unlocked frame rates, and various aspect ratios including ultrawide. It also features improved graphical settings like MSAA, anisotropic filtering, and adjustable field of view. To maintain legality, the project does not distribute commercial assets; instead, it requires the original game files to function. The project is also compatible with the Steam Deck and includes a mod manager.
