Blue Energy seeks nuclear construction permits in Texas
Blue Energy has submitted its initial construction permit application to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a planned gas-to-nuclear project at the Port of Victoria in Texas. The application requests permission to begin limited construction activities, such as deep foundation and shaft works, to accommodate the site’s first small modular reactor. The company’s strategy involves constructing the natural gas and balance-of-plant components first to accelerate the nuclear deployment process.
In separate energy developments, East Point Energy has completed a new storage site located near the southern tip of Texas. Additionally, Prime Group and Wunder have launched a national solar infrastructure deployment program, which has already seen over 100 projects under development across nine states, focusing on utilizing undeveloped rooftop space for renewable energy generation.
