Blue Impulse scheduled for demonstration flight in Konosu
The Blue Impulse aerobatic team of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force is scheduled to perform a demonstration flight at 4:00 PM on October 10 in Konosu, Saitama Prefecture. The flight is being held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Konosu City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division.
The demonstration will be part of the 23rd Konosu Fireworks Festival, held at Nukata Sports Ground and the Arakawa Riverbed. Following the aerial display, approximately 20,000 fireworks are planned to be launched starting at 5:30 PM. The festival organizers are also attempting a Guinness World Record for the number of large-caliber shells fired in a three-minute period.
Organizers have issued warnings regarding traffic and parking. Large-scale traffic restrictions will begin as early as 7:00 AM. Due to expected heavy congestion and the possibility of paid parking lots filling up by 3:00 PM, attendees are encouraged to arrive by 2:00 PM. While the flight time is confirmed, specific flight routes and pre-flight schedules have not yet been released.
