Blue Motor Finance Limited placed into administration in the UK
Blue Motor Finance Limited (BMFL), a motor‑finance lender, was placed into administration on 30 July 2026. Ernst & Young LLP partners Simon Edel, Richard Barker and Alan Michael Hudson were appointed as joint administrators. The firm had been loss‑making for years and faced large compensation liabilities under the Financial Conduct Authority’s motor‑finance compensation scheme that it could not meet.
BMFL will cease offering new loans, but existing loan agreements will continue to be serviced in the short term and customers are urged to keep making payments. The FCA is working with the administrators to achieve the best possible outcomes for customers, although full compensation is unlikely. Customers are warned of potential fraud and advised to verify any contact claiming to be from BMFL, the administrators, or the FCA.
