Blue Mountains emergency services respond to triple rescue incidents
Emergency services in the Blue Mountains responded to three separate critical incidents on a single Monday. The first emergency occurred at the Pool of Siloam Track in Leura, where a bushwalker was bitten by a suspected brown snake. This required a coordinated effort involving NSW Ambulance and Blue Mountains Police, including a helicopter airlift and the rapid retrieval of antivenom from Katoomba Hospital.
Shortly after, a second rescue helicopter was dispatched from Wollongong to assist a person who sustained a significant leg injury at Paradise Pool in Linden. The individual was winched from the area for medical treatment.
A third incident involved four bushwalkers who became lost near the Bedford Creek Trail. One member of the group was suffering from dehydration. Blue Mountains Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance successfully located and retrieved the entire group. Authorities noted that the simultaneous nature of these incidents required high levels of professionalism and coordination among regional emergency agencies.
