Bluenose II completes coastal voyage and prepares for hurricane season
The Bluenose II has completed a coastal voyage along the eastern coast of Halifax, making stops in Chester, Murphy’s Cove, Arichat, and Sheet Harbour before returning to Lunenburg.
As the vessel prepares for the upcoming hurricane season, crew members are utilizing advanced weather forecasting methods. Modern operations now incorporate eight different forecast models, including AI interpretations of government data, to supplement traditional maritime observations. The crew is monitoring the effects of a record-setting El Niño in the Pacific and warming ocean temperatures, which may influence storm activity.
