Bluesky increases video length limit to 10 minutes

Bluesky has implemented a major update to its video capabilities, significantly increasing the maximum video length from 3 minutes to 10 minutes. This change is designed to attract more creators and provide a more robust sharing experience on the decentralized microblogging platform.

In addition to the extended duration, the update includes technical improvements such as upload speeds that are reportedly 2 to 3 times faster than previous levels. This follows a prior increase in June 2026, which raised the maximum file size limit from 100MB to 300MB. These enhancements aim to position Bluesky as a more competitive alternative to other social media platforms by supporting a wider range of content, including vlogs and tutorials.
