Bluesky introduces repost filtering and automated thread numbering

Bluesky has introduced a new feature that allows users to hide reposts from specific accounts without unfollowing them. By selecting the ‘Hide reposts in feeds’ option within a user's profile menu, followers can filter out content that the account has shared from others while still seeing the account's original posts in their main feed.

This tool provides more granular control than the existing mute function, which typically hides all content and notifications from a user. The feature aims to help users manage feeds cluttered by accounts that frequently repost content.

Additionally, Bluesky is testing a beta feature to improve the readability of long post threads. The system will automatically add sequence numbers to connected posts, such as ‘1/8’ or ‘2/8’, making it easier for readers to track the length and order of a thread without the author needing to number them manually.
