Bluesy Burke to remain on General Hospital while attending college

Actress Bluesy Burke, who plays Charlotte Cassadine on General Hospital, will not be leaving the series permanently. Although the character is being sent to boarding school in Maine following recent plot developments, Burke will remain part of the cast.

Executive producer Frank Valentini confirmed that Burke is heading to college in real life. To accommodate her education, the production has arranged a schedule that allows her to return to the show during school breaks and holidays. Burke noted that she had initially considered a gap year to remain a regular on the show, but Valentini encouraged her to pursue her studies.

In the series, Charlotte’s departure to St. Agatha’s boarding school follows a period of behavioral issues. The decision to keep Burke in the role rather than recasting ensures the actress can continue her professional work alongside her academic journey.
