Blumenau and Gaspar face traffic and transport disruptions
In Blumenau, Brazil, twelve speed cameras are scheduled for mandatory calibration by the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro). The inspections will take place over three days: Tuesday (August 18), Wednesday (August 19), and Sunday (August 23), starting at 9:30 a.m. The Municipal Secretariat of Urban Mobility (Semob) will manage traffic and deploy agents to assist drivers during the process. Some inspections were scheduled for Sunday to minimize traffic impact during peak hours.
Meanwhile, in Gaspar, public transport services face potential disruption following a strike vote by workers. The Sindetranscol union reported that the company Expresso Presidente failed to meet negotiation deadlines and submitted a proposal that addressed only two of more than 80 demands. The municipality of Gaspar has been officially notified of the decision and is monitoring the situation to ensure the continuity of transport services.
