Blumhouse and MatPat partner for indie horror game films

Blumhouse Productions has partnered with YouTuber Matthew ‘MatPat’ Patrick to develop a series of films based on viral indie horror games. The announcement was made at New York Comic Con 2026.

The first project in this collaboration will be an adaptation of the indie horror game ‘Amanda the Adventurer,’ a puzzle-solving title centered on a mysterious animated children’s show. MatPat stated that the team is currently in talks with writers and directors to accelerate the project.

This partnership follows a growing trend of indie horror game adaptations and YouTuber-led film projects, including recent works by creators such as Jacksepticeye and Markiplier.
