Blumhouse to produce American remake of ‘Vincent Must Die’

Blumhouse, Atomic Monster, AR Content, and Vertigo Entertainment are collaborating to produce an American English-language remake of the acclaimed French-Belgian film ‘Vincent Must Die’.

David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, a screenwriter known for his work on ‘The Conjuring’ franchise and ‘Orphan’, is set to write and direct the project, marking his directorial debut. The original film, directed by Stéphan Castang, premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival Critics’ Week and received critical praise for its blend of satirical comedy and psychological horror.

The story follows Vincent, an unremarkable man whose life is upended when strangers and acquaintances suddenly attempt to kill him upon making direct eye contact. The remake will reimagine this high-concept premise for a new audience. A release date has not yet been announced.
