BMG reports $515M H1 2026 revenue amid record music rights investments

BMG reported a 4.9% year-over-year revenue increase for the first half of 2026, reaching approximately $515 million (€444 million). The growth was driven largely by high single-digit increases in recorded music streaming subscription revenue and rights and licenses.

Operating EBITDA rose 4% to $147 million (€127 million), maintaining a 29% margin. The company noted that its adjusted operating EBITDA has increased 42% since 2023. Geographically, the United States accounted for roughly half of the revenue, while the UK saw a 9% increase.

Ahead of its anticipated acquisition of Concord, BMG achieved its highest first-half investment in music rights in company history. Recent acquisitions include song rights for Jelly Roll, Fuji Music Group, and Jet. Since 2021, the Bertelsmann subsidiary has deployed approximately $1.85 billion on music catalogs through the Boost program.
